QPR Gatekeeper Course on emergency mental health intervention

QPR stands for question, persuade, and refer. QPR is designed to teach those in the helping professions how to recognize people in crisis, identify suicide warning signs, and apply the mental health equivalent of CPR to someone who may be at risk of suicide. This training is intended to prevent suicide among patiens, employees, colleagues, co-workers, friends, and family members. QPR is working with Indian Health Service to provide culturally competent suicide prevention and awareness trainings to tribal health departments within scope of funding. 10+ scenario-based interactive simulations, Course includes 4 evidence-based practices taught, 4 hours of video lecture, total of 16 lessons taught by 3 expert faculty. There is a coursefinder tool on the QPR website that allows folks to search for customized trainings if their organization is requiring specific requirements (i.e. screening and referral, assessment, management, and treatment).
