CHR Summit VIII
The 19 Tribal CHR Programs in Arizona are excited to announce the Community Health Representative Summit VIII to be held in December 3-5th 2024, at the Casino Del Sol Conference Center located on the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, Tucson, Arizona. This year’s theme is “CHR Summit VIII: Voices of the Community: Sustaining the CHR Workforce through Integration and Collaboration”
This annual Summit focuses on the Community Health Representatives (CHR) workforce and allows CHR programs to gather, network, learn, and deepen partnerships.
This CHR Annual Summit will:
Provide skills and training to help support CHRs to expand professionalism and collaboration
Recognize and celebrate positive impacts CHRs make in American Indian Communities
Expand knowledge and connect valuable information and resources regarding CHR Policy Development, Integration, and Sustainability

We're delighted to share that training specialists from the Center for Community Health Alignment (CCHA) will soon offer our CHW Health & Racial Equity Training. This 20-hour training, offered for just $1 an hour, covers topics such as equity, privilege, and inclusion, past and present policies that uphold health inequities, as well as learning how to create opportunities to impact and sustain systemic change through partnerships.
This training, possible by Johnson & Johnson’s ‘Our Race to Health Equity’ Campaign, is approved for community health worker (CHW) continuing education units (CEUs)by the South Carolina Community Health Worker Association.
*We previously planned on offering this training in-person, but due to the ongoing regional impacts of Hurricane Helene, we are now offering this training virtually.
Center for Community Health Alignment (CCHA)
The CCHA Community Health Worker Core Competency Training Curriculum provides participants with the foundational knowledge necessary to begin work as a community health worker (CHW) and provides an avenue to certification eligibility. After all phases of training have been completed, training participants will be prepared to sit for the South Carolina Community Health Worker Exam administered by the South Carolina Community Health Worker Association (SCCHWA).

SECHW Summit
The annual Southeast Community Health Worker Network’s (SE CHW Network) Summit provides a space for individuals within the SE CHW Network to gather together to acknowledge the impact of the work they do in their communities, share best practices, and address challenges and barriers. The SE CHW Network's primary goal is to enable areas throughout the region to support one another in order to collaboratively advocate for the Community Health Worker field.)

The NYU Community Health Worker Research & Resource Center invites you to a virtual webinar, COVID-19 Town Hall for CHWs: Where Are We with Variants and Where Are We Headed? Part 5 on Monday, September 16th, 1:00-2:00 PM ET. We will hear an update on the current COVID-19 variants in NYC and beyond, as well as the newly released 2024–2025 vaccine from Dr. Anna Bershteyn, Associate Professor in the Department of Population Health at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. This webinar will cover how the new vaccine is designed to protect against the latest variants, why it's important to stay informed, and what community health workers need to know when discussing these updates with community members. A moderated Q&A will follow withCamila Caycedo, Project Facilitator with Parenting Education at the Family Health Centers at NYU Langone.

Designed for community health workers (CHWs) and health professionals working in similar roles, this introductory module encompasses topics such as obesity, body mass index (BMI), chronic and non-chronic conditions, infectious and non-infectious conditions, and an overview of prediabetes, type I, type II, and gestational diabetes.
We will discuss healthy behaviors to recommend when supporting individuals with chronic disease management.
This training has been approved for continuing education units (CEUs) by the South Carolina Community Health Worker Association.

CHW Program Showcase featuring State, Tribal, Local and Island Nation Health Departments
Community Health Worker (CHW) leadership is fundamental to achieving CHW Workforce Sustainability. This webinar will focus on how the development of a CHW leadership body (i.e. CHW Council) can help elevate CHW voices and enhance their leadership capabilities. envision's CHW Council Charter (a tool adapted from coalition building trainings in Wisconsin) serves as a compelling example of how to empower CHWs and ensures that their contributions are recognized and valued.

A CHW Council Charter’s impact on elevating CHWs
envision is excited to elevate the Community Health Worker (CHW) Workforce by highlighting CHWs for COVID Response and Resilient Communities (CCR-2109) CHW programs and organizations, funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Presenters will highlight how CCR-2109 supports the development of their CHW programs with an emphasis on CHW voice and leadership. We will be celebrating the successes of local, tribal, state and Island Nation health departments. envision will demonstrate how myenvision, an online community platform, is strengthening the CHW workforce by creating sustainable connections across the country, island, and sovereign nations.
