Violence is a public health matter that has significant effects on a community’s health and well-being. Intervention programs led by Community Health Workers have shown improvement in community environments. Yet, violence prevention is rarely included in a Community Health Workers scope of work. This webinar will include presentations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Community Health Worker Work Group and CommUnity Healing through Activism and Strategic Mobilization (CHASM) to provide participants insight on CHWs contributions in violence prevention.
This webinar is open to all. We especially encourage CCR-2109 recipients (CHWs, CHW allies, CHW program staff, etc.) and their partners to attend. Spanish interpretation services will be provided in real-time and a recording of the webinar will be made available after the session for those unable to attend the live webinar.
